Echo is New Tech Network's web-based learning management system (LMS) designed to support Project-based learning (PBL), facilitate communication and collaboration, and improve teacher practice.
I worked on this project on and off for three years, while employed at KnowledgeWorks, New Tech's parent organization. My last year working on the project was the most productive. After the previous product owner left the company, I jumped into that role and immediately began to shift the focus of our roadmap to the users. With the help of the Echo business team, we were able to visit schools often for user testing and feedback. We quickly learned what worked and what didn't and were able to adjust our roadmap to accommodate their needs.
In this short time, we were able to make significant improvements to the app while building trust and satisfaction with the hundreds of students and teachers who use it everyday.

Redesigned Project Library lets teachers search and download projects that can then be used in their classes.
Speed Grader: One of the biggest pain points felt by the teachers was our online assignment grading system. After careful study and iterations, we were able to design and develop a new system that would save teachers about an hour a day.
